Welcome to the Emerald View Chalet, by Mountain Vacation Lodging. This spectacular pet free private home is one of the premier rental properties in Steamboat Springs. Incredible views of the Yampa Valley, Emerald Mountain and beyond are complimented by the upscale finishes and furnishings. ** Spring 2026 Renovation & Deck Expansion details:
Due to be completed in late June, the owners will be the first to enjoy the new spaces. With rental dates open from late July onward, guests will be treated to a refreshed gourmet kitchen and an enormously expanded deck. In the kitchen, the gas cooktop and all countertops are all being replaced and upgraded. The island will be replaced and enlarged. Both sinks and faucets will be brand new. The lighting over the island and dining table are also being improved. Out the back door, there is a pretty decently sized back deck, but what it is becoming is something to behold. The deck will extend around the south side of the home and out to the west, across the driveway. The existing hot tub will be reinstalled close to the back door of the house, for easy access in winter weather. The newly expanded deck will include a covered outdoor kitchen & bar, a large fireplace with HDTV, and plenty of deck space for seating and sunbathing. With the national forest to the East and incredible views to the West, this deck will be a wonderful addition to an already special home.
The Property:
With 4500 square feet of space, and over 1100 feet of deck space, the Emerald View Chalet offers plenty of room for your group to spread out, as well as large spaces where you can gather everyone together. The upper level features a large “Great Room” on the upper level. With quartzite stone floors, 25 foot vaulted tongue and groove ceilings, massive log beams, and picture windows framing amazing panoramic views, it is a welcoming and generous space. The living room portion has an oversized fireplace, a large HDTV with built in surround sound stereo system, and luxurious seating for 10 adults. The dining table also seats 10 comfortably and has immediate access to the front deck, where a large natural gas grill beckons you to fire it up. The gourmet kitchen is ideal for large groups and entertaining. It has 2 sinks, a very large island with bar seating, double ovens, an ice maker, an extra large custom fridge, and of course, a professional gas range.
Downstairs is another great feature - the Game Room. French doors allow this very large room to be made private, so the game room doubles as a 5th bedroom. The homeowners have 2 Twin beds with rollaway bed frames which can be set out or stored away depending upon your group size and needs. This game room has a full size pool table, a full wet bar including a wine fridge and mini fridge, and a home theater system with surround sound, making this a great place to spend time and helping to spread out larger groups.
With 3 King size beds, 2 Queens, and 4 Twins, the Emerald View Chalet is set up to work very well for groups of 4 or even 5 couples, as well as groups that have a mix of couples and singles or kids. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed, wall mounted HDTV, valley views, a dressing room / walk-in closet, and a large 5 piece bathroom that includes dual sinks, jacuzzi tub, walk-in shower, and a water closet. This first bedroom and bathroom suite occupies the entire north end of the home’s main, upper level. Bedroom 2 has a king size bed, wall mounted HDTV, valley views, and a large ensuite bathroom and walk in closet combo. Bedroom 3 has a king size bed as well as a Twin over Twin bunk bed, making this room ideal for singles, kids, or couples with younger kids. This bedroom also includes a wall mounted HDTV, national forest views, access to the back deck, and another ensuite bathroom and walk in closet combo. Bedrooms 2 and 3 are also on the main, upper level of the home, but on the south end of the home. Bedroom 4 is on the lower level, which is the entry level of the home. This room features a Queen over Queen bunk bed, wall mounted HDTV, and valley views. The fourth full bathroom features a very large shower, and is just across the hall from this bedroom, making it easy to share if you’ll be using the adjacent Game Room as a fifth bedroom. With high end mattresses, the finest linens available, upscale finishes throughout, and just the right touch of western decor, this home is certain to make your visit one that you'll remember for a lifetime. The outdoor spaces at this home also help to make for an incredible experience. The covered front deck and its natural gas grill are a great place to take in the views, in any season or weather. You can relax in a large, luxurious Hot Tub, conveniently located just out the back door. Surrounded by evergreen and aspen forest, it’s a private and heavenly place to relax and rejuvenate your body after a day full of activity and adventure.
Location:
There’s a reason we call this the Emerald View Chalet. The views from this home are quite special. Perched on the west slope of Mount Werner and the Park Range, hundreds of feet above the valley floor, you will enjoy views of the entire Yampa Valley. Look south towards the Sarvis Creek Wilderness and Stagecoach State Park, then gaze to the southwest across the iconic Flat Tops Wilderness, and enjoy sunsets across Emerald Mountain to the west. Looking northwest, you’ll be able to see downtown Steamboat Springs, the Howelsen Hill Ski Area, and Sleeping Giant just west of town. Take in these valley views from 3 of the 4 bedrooms, the Great Room, both decks, and the Game Room. The Emerald View Chalet also includes a powder room on the main, upper level, a mud room between the garage and the foyer, and storage space within the oversized, heated garage.
Access to the Trails: For adventurous experts, it is sometimes possible to ski right to the back door of this home, though this requires leaving the ski area boundaries, wayfinding through the forest, and is not recommended. For advanced skiers, it is sometimes possible to ski to within about 150 meters of the front door, though this also requires an expert level ski trail leaving the ski area boundary and following the Gondola liftline down to Ski Trail Lane. Beginner level trails are about one third of a mile from the home. This walk is relatively flat and the distance is doable for many, but also a bit far for others. Alternatives for ski slope access include driving and parking, taking an Uber, or having a non-skiing member of the group drop you off.

Arrival, Accessibility, Layout and Parking:
We're here to support you before, during, and after your stay. We will provide you with arrival instructions, local information, and answer any questions you might have. Accessing this property requires only one step up from the garage into the lower level of the home. From there, one grand flight of stairs brings you to the upper level. Parking is plentiful You’ll have one space within the heated garage, and there is space for 3 or even 4 more vehicles outside. Trailers, Campers, and RVs are not allowed. The driveway is somewhat steep and in seasons when winter weather is possible, 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive may be necessary for access. Street parking in winter is prohibited by the city, to ensure uninhibited operation of snow plow trucks.

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.
** Pet Free - Pets AND Service Animals are NOT PERMITTED in the property or on the premises. This is a privately owned home and is a PET FREE property. Due to the existence of pet allergies, this home is marketed and maintained as free of pet hair and dander. Allowing pets or service animals would result in a fundamental alteration of the nature of the property, and may pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others. Therefore, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Fair Housing Act, PETS AND/OR SERVICE ANIMALS are not permitted in the home or on the premises. There may be circumstances that create an exception to this policy, but only if the Guest provides advance notice of the presence of a service animal in writing before booking, and receives specific approval.
** Group Sizes, High Occupancy Fees, & Maximum Occupancy - Some properties use a “High Occupancy Fee” to “raise the rate” for larger groups, and are thus able to list a lower nightly rate for smaller groups. Each rental agreement and associated rates are for a specific group size. Guests must enter the correct and maximum group size at the time of booking. The agreement requires a guest to confirm the group size and subsequently, to disclose any changes to the planned group size, which may result in an increase, or decrease, to the total cost, and may result in a security deposit becoming required.
** Video & Noise Monitoring - Please note that noise monitoring devices, and security cameras, do exist on the exterior of the property. Cameras are positioned to cover all entrances and exits of the home. Cameras are present to ensure the property remains secure and safe, as well as to ensure that guests are honest and upfront about their planned use of the property. If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. For normal, respectful groups, we are sorry that these statements and measures are necessary. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. Please let us know if you have any concerns.
** Lengthy Rental Periods, Cancellation Policies, & Cleaning Fees - Long Term Rentals (28 nights or more) may be unacceptable under the standard cancellation policies listed online, which are designed to be only for short term rentals. Long Term Rentals must be discussed and approved prior to booking online. A long term rental / lease agreement may be required. A Security Deposit will be required for all long term rentals, and mid-stay cleaning(s) / inspection(s) may be required. The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. For guests who are booking a lengthy stay of more than one week, a mid stay-cleaning fee equal to the final cleaning fee may apply for the second week, third week, and so on.
